Vintage Heartland Santa Designed by A. Constanza Midwest Importers of Cannon Falls with Hearts, a Star & a Tree All of the art work and collectibles being sold by Adams-Byrd Fine Art & Antiques have been collected and selected one at a time by the proprietor, an art historian with many years of training and experience in university art history departments, museums, galleries, and historic sites both in the U.S. and abroad. The business has been based in the Washington, D.C. area for many years. The art and collectibles that we are offering to eBay buyers are special and unique pieces that have been carefully “curated” by us. This is one of our favorite collectible Santas by Midwest Importers of Cannon Falls. Two red hearts hang from his wire belt, and he holds a small metal tree on a long wire. A gold metal star hangs from the tip of his hat. There is a loop of twine rope in his left hand (at the front) . So, if you are a Santa collector who also likes hearts and stars, this will be a perfect addition to your collection. This charming Santa, designed by A. Constanza, has been beautifully painted with a lot of detail (flowers, leaves, checkerboard pattern on the hat, etc.). The Heartland Santa series figures, like many of the others made by Midwest Importers of Cannon Falls, were carved in wood and then cast in another material. Since acquiring this for our Christmas decorations collection years ago, we have learned that this Santa was originally pulling a sled …… attached to twine/rope coming out of the back of his left hand. This Santa still has the original white rectangular label on the bottom of his right foot --- MIDWEST IMPORTERS OF CANNON FALLS, INC. MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES The designer has been identified elsewhere as A. Constanza, but we don’t know if that attribution is from the original packaging, from a label or tag that originally came with it, or from a label under its original sled. This Santa is in good vintage condition. It is under 8“ tall, under 4“ wide, and about 3” deep. We would guess that this folk art Santa is from the 1980s or 1990s. All items we sell are from a pet free and smoke free environment – unless prior owner history is noted above.
