Presented is an ornate German sterling silver box with English import marks from 1887. This piece displays a French style large profile on the lid, likely King Louis XIV, XV, or XVI. The base of the box displays great scrolls and flowers. The interior of the box has a great gold wash. The underside of the box and the edge of the lid's rim are marked with full English import hallmarks: the “F” mark for Foreign, the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for London, the duty mark of Queen Victoria's head, and the date letter M representing 1887. There is also a “TG” mark who represents the importer. The bottom is also marked with German pseudo hallmarks. This piece is in great overall condition. The pattern details are in good shape. There are no monograms and no monogram removals. The lid attaches well. There are no breaks and no repairs.
